Washington Ambassadors

The following Ambassadors began participating in DO-IT as Scholars in 1998. They continue to pursue college and career goals and encourage younger DO-IT Scholars and Ambassadors.

Katrina, '98 Scholar

Traumatic brain injury
Earned an associate's degree in integrated studies from Cascadia Community College. Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in global studies with an emphasis on human rights at the University of Washington, Bothell. Helped launch a disability advocacy group at the University. In 2008, worked part-time for the Army Corps of Engineers Equal Employment Opportunities Commission in Seattle.

Graduated from Spokane Falls Community College in mechanical engineering.

Earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of New Orleans.

Mobility impairment
Attended Spokane Falls Community College. Hopes to become a network security analyst.

Attention deficit disorder, dyslexia, and dysgraphia
Co-owner of Faded Karma Productions. Front desk supervisor at the Hotel Max and live sound engineer for Super Geek League (Sci-Fi Punk Circus).

Chanon, '98 Scholar

Cerebral palsy
Studied social work at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. Is raising money for a service dog for Paws With a Cause and has raised $11,000 of $20,000 so far. Does wheelchair ballet at the Valley Academy of the Arts and is involved with BEAMING (Building Equine Assisted Mobility Into New Growth).
