The following Ambassadors began participating in DO-IT as Scholars in 1995. They continue to pursue college and career goals and encourage younger DO-IT Scholars and Ambassadors.
Blind
Earned a Bachelor's degree. Majored in information technology and minored in scientific and technical communications from the University of Minnesota, Crookston. Pursuing a career in assistive technology and working on an AmeriCorps project.
Learning disability
Helps build steel and Toyota pickups.
Attention Deficit Disorder, learning disability
Works in a technical support position at Diamond Multimedia.
Muscular Dystrophy
Had a strong desire to go to college and open his own computer drafting business when he died of complications from pneumonia in 1996.
Psoriatic Arthritis
Plans to attend Shoreline Community College.
Quadriplegia
Finishing up a degree at Eastern Washington University.
Dyslexia
Studied architecture, carpentry, and fish and wildlife at Highline Community College.
Cerebral Palsy
Earned a Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation from Southern Illinois University. Pursuing a Master's of social work at Grand Valley State in Grand Rapids, MI and working as a graduate assistant for the School of Social Work and in program development at a child abuse prevention agency.
Learning disability
Attended Boise State University.
Quadriplegia
Earned a Bachelor's degree in social services at Central Washington University and a web design certificate from the Art Institute Online. Works as a state advocate for people with disabilities and is a member of the Washington State Developmental Disability Council, Self Advocates in Leadership, and Sound Transit's Citizen's Accessibility Advisory Committee.
Deaf
Works at Washington Energy and plans to attend a community college to pursue a degree in manufacturing.
Brain injury
Attended Spokane Falls Community College and works as a door maker.
Hearing impairment
Earned a Bachelor's degree in biology and speech and hearing sciences from Whitman College. Completed an Au.D. degree at the University of Washington and works as a pediatric audiologist at Children's Hospital in Seattle.
Epidermolysis Bullosa
Attended the University of Washington with an interest in technical communication.
Mobility impairment
Earned a Bachelor's degree, with a major in public relations and a minor in political science, from Arizona State University. Working for State Farm Insurance.
Cerebral Palsy
Attended Southern Oregon University.
Spinal cord injury, Quadraplegia
Earned Associate's degree and works in the information technology field.
Renal failure and hearing loss
Attended Columbia Basin Community College.

Completed a degree in web design and web administration. Works part-time as a web accessibility specialist, a disability advocate, and personal care assistant.
