The following Ambassadors began participating in DO-IT in 1994. They continue to pursue college and career goals and encourage younger Scholars and Ambassadors.
Cerebral Palsy and learning disabilities
Works as Remote Troubleshooter for the Technical Service Department at Prentke Romich Company (PRC), on the board at Options Independent Living Center, and volunteer to different groups.
Spinal Muscular Dystrophy
Completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Attends law school and plans to do community litigation work.
Undiagnosed Severe Neuropathy
Interests include biology, business and bioinformatics. Volunteers in related fields.
Post-Polio
Completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and is now studying computer networking.
Learning disability
Earned an Associate of Arts degree in Arts and Sciences and now works for Pacific Office Automation as a shop supervisor.
Health and orthopedic impairments, Dwarfism
Majoring in computer science.
Health impairment, Nervous System Dysmorphia, and Congenital Scoliosis
Attended a state university, studying physics, biology, mathematics, and computers and is now pursuing a technology career in Japan.
Visual impairment
Attends a state university, with a major in psychology and a minor in hotel, restaurant, and resort management.
Muscular Dystrophy
Worked at Columbia Industries. Passed away in 2004.
Paralysis from brain injury
Attends community college and participates as LEAP Project (Leadership, Education & Advocacy Program) Advisory Board Member and in Church Service Missionary.
Dyslexia
Graduated from college and currently works for ConAgra foods as a Marketing Development Representative.
Cerebral Palsy and low vision
Pursuing science at a community college.
Visual impairment
Completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Chemistry and an MBA in Information Technology Management. Now working as Computer Manager.
Chronic Lyme Disease
Completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and now works at INTRACEL biotechnology company in quality assurance microbiology.
