Lyla Crawford Serves as President of WAPED

Lyla Crawford, program coordinator for UW-IT’s DO-IT (Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking and Technology) Center, began her tenure as President of the Washington Association on Postsecondary Education and Disability (WAPED). Since 1982 WAPED has provided professional development for disability service providers in higher education. The organization facilitates the exchange of information among persons serving students with disabilities in postsecondary institutions while seeking to advance high standards of professional ethics and conduct. Forty-three higher education institutions from Washington State have members involved in WAPED.

Lyla began working for DO-IT in 1997 in Spokane and joined WAPED soon after. She served as secretary on the WAPED board for 10 years before becoming president.
