Phase I: Breakfast (Lander Hall, Local Point, Ground level)
- Meet up with a group in the Maple Hall 4th Floor Lobby between 7:00 and 8:00 to go down to breakfast.
At 8:30, Meet outside in courtyard between Maple and Lander (see map) to depart for HUB for morning session
Phase I: Welcome and Staying Connected, (HUB, Room 145) Sheryl Burgstahler, DO-IT Director
- Schedule, safety, emergency procedures, rules, evaluations, "buddy" system, Q & A, and newsletter projects.
- Get “connected” with your fellow Scholars, Ambassadors and Mentors. Send an email message to at least one current Scholar, one Phase II Scholar, one Ambassador, and one Mentor.

- Learn about the exciting field of disability studies– an academic field that combines social, cultural, historical, political, legal, and educational perspectives.

At 12:15-1:15, Phase I: Lunch Bunch with Planning Groups (all groups eat in Husky Den, HUB, Lower Level)
- Work with Scholars who have disabilities similar to your own to talk about an upcoming DO-IT video project.

- We all face struggles and setbacks. We will talk about how to take risks and recover in and out of the classroom.
- How to be kind to yourself when things are not going well.

- Explore the geometry of length, area, and volume while building Tetrahedron Kites.

- Check-in and chat about DO-IT workshops, assignments, daily events, Phase II, Ambassadors, internships, and question and answer.

At 5:30, Phase I: Travel as a group back to dinner and dorms.

- Grab a board game and some new friends. Explore teamwork in a new way.
Evening Dorm Activities / Go To Bed
- Visiting, board games, crafts, and more (Lander 4th Floor Lounge). 4th Floor Lounge: Brookelyn and Andrew
- Hang out in your dorm room or go to bed early to get some rest. Dorm hall duty: Aspen (girls) and Grady (boys)
Flush and Brush!
- Time to finish up your evening routine and head to your room.
Goodnight! All Scholars must be in their rooms in Lander Hall.
