- Check in with Lead Staff then go meet up a group on the Willow Hall 5th Floor between 7:00 and 8:00 to go down to breakfast. Check in with Lead Staff if you do not plan to go to breakfast.
At 8:30: Phase I: Meet outside Willow Hall Center Table to walk to HUB 145.

Phase II: Workshops
Robotics: Human Centered Robotics (Gates Center, Room G-60) Maya Cakmak, Assistant Professor, Computer Science and Engineering, University of Washington; Maru Cabrera, Postdoc, Robotics, University of Washington
- Robots will soon be integrated in our daily lives just like our laptops or smartphones. But what will they do for us? In this workshop we will discover different types of robots, explore their potential use for making people's lives easier, and learn how to program them. By the end of the week our robots will have a whole new set of useful capabilities, all taught by you!
Lights, Camera, Advocacy: Digital Storytelling and Disability (HUB, Room 238 -Monday only) Courtney Cole, Peter Rand, Vanessa Link, Rachel Miyazaki, Vilissa Thompson, Rooted in Rights
- Got something to say? Work with staff from Rooted in Rights to produce a creative, fully accessible video that advocates for disability rights. You will experience the filmmaking process from start to finish. We will discuss effective storytelling, brainstorm topics, work on story structure, and write scripts. Then, we will use a simple set of tools to shoot a professional video. You will learn the basics of Adobe Rush and edit your own video. Finally, you will ensure video accessibility and of course, share them online via social media!

- Be part of the DO-IT webdev team! Collaborate with other Phase I Scholars to design and build the 2019 DO-IT Summer Study website in this five-part workshop.

- An opportunity to learn about glaciers, glacier flows and volcanoes.
Phase I & II: Lunch (HUB, Husky Den, Lower Level)
- Have lunch with fellow Scholars in the Husky Den.
- Computer lab is open from 12:00-1:30 in HUB 145. Great time to work on newsletter article, accessibility review, evaluations, check email or just hang out in the lab.
Phase I: Hour of Code (HUB, Room 145) Brianna Blaser, DO-IT Program Coordinator
- Across the country, there is a large effort to get computer science eduction in to K-12 schools. Learn about efforts to make sure computer science is accessible to students with disabilities and code in Quorum, an accessible programming language.
Phase II: First Impressions (HUB, Room 250) Tami Tidwell, DO-IT Program Coordinator
- Discuss resumes, disability disclosure and elevator pitch while preparing for mock interviews.
Phase II: Presentation Skills (HUB, Room 250) Scott Bellman, DO-IT Program Manager
- Learn about a variety of strategies to deliver a good presentation. We'll talk about slides and visuals, introductions, engaging the audience, and more!

- Learn how scientists are working on communications between the human brain and a wide variety of technology!

- Hang out in your dorm room or go to bed early to get some rest.
