Washington State Scholars Program

DO-IT (Disabilities, Opportunity, Internetworking and Technology) is currently accepting applications from Washington State high school students for the Scholars program! For this unique program we are looking for students who have an aptitude and interest in attending college, have a disability, and are interested in meeting and interacting with other students who have disabilities. Selected high school students with disabilities participate in the DO-IT Scholars leadership program for a three-year period and, after that point, can continue to participate as DO-IT Ambassadors, helping others succeed in college and careers. Students selected access information on the Internet and participate in electronic mentoring, peer support and other activities year-round. The first year (Phase I) activities include Internetworking, mentoring, Summer Study (a two-week residence on the University of Washington campus), and DO-IT events. The second year (Phase II) Scholars return for a one-week Summer Study and work with faculty in specialized areas. The third year (Phase III) Scholars continue working on projects and assist with the Summer Study and other program activities. Washington state high school students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
