What is the National Youth Leadership Network?

Founded in 1997, the National Youth Leadership Network (NYLN) "is dedicated to breaking isolation and building community through supporting youth with disabilities to reach their full potential." NYLN organizes people with disabilities, who are 16-28 years old, to create positive change for people with disabilities. Youth involved with NYLN build leadership skills and are active in disability rights issues. NYLN supports youth activists, values inclusion and disability pride, and ensures that youth have access to resources and opportunities to be active in their communities. They organize local events for youth to engage in leadership development and local politics. Members receive newsletters, invitations to teleconferences and webcasts, and more.

Resources on the NYLN website include curriculum on leadership as well as information about creating change, disability identity and history, social justice, and youth leadership.
