Eligibility

DO-IT Scholars is a competitive program that accepts a cohort of 15-20 students per year. A qualified applicant fits all of the following criteria:

• is a high school sophomore or junior
• has a disability
• lives or attends school in Washington State
• has aptitude and interest in studying at a college

Deadline

Applications are accepted throughout the school year for the upcoming summers. However, priority is given to applications received by January 30th. Applications received after January 30th are considered on a space-available basis.

How to Apply

Submitting the Student Application early allows us to know you are interested and keep in contact throughout the rest of the application process. A complete DO-IT Scholars application includes all of the following items. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Note that some forms are available online. If you prefer to complete all forms by hand, you can print the entire application packet and submit to DO-IT by postal mail, fax, or email.

• Student Application
  Complete the online Student Application form. Or, print the form and submit to DO-IT by postal mail, fax, or email.
• Parent/Guardian Recommendation and Consent
  Complete the online Parent/Guardian Recommendation and Consent form. Or print the Parent/Guardian Recommendation and Consent form. Give it to your parent or guardian to complete and sign. Submit to DO-IT by postal mail, fax, or email.
• High School Teacher, Administrator, or Counselor Recommendation 
  Ask your recommender to complete the online Recommendation form. Or, print the High School Teacher, Administrator, or Counselor Recommendation form and give it to your recommender. You may ask more than one recommender to complete the form.
• Current Transcript 
  Complete the DO-IT Scholar Transcript Submission form. Or submit a copy of your current transcript to DO-IT by postal mail, fax, or email.

We prefer forms submitted online, but you can complete any of the forms by hand and submit to DO-IT by email, fax, or postal mail. You can also access these applications in Spanish, Russian, or Vietnamese.

Alternate Ways to Apply

If you prefer to complete all forms by hand, print and submit the DO-IT Scholars Program Application Packet. 

Application materials may be submitted in your native language and in audio or video format.

Notification
