'93 Ambassadors
The following Ambassadors began participating in DO-IT in 1993. They continue to pursue college and career goals and encourage younger Scholars and Ambassadors.
Stroke; partial paralysis
Completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and minor in Applied Psychology and now working for ShelterCare with mentally ill homeless adults and at The Child Center with mentally ill and emotionally disturbed children.
Muscular Dystrophy
Attended community college and a state university and was busy developing plans for an Internet-based business when he passed away peacefully in his sleep in 2001.
Hearing impairment
Completed Bachelor's degree in Biology and Master's degree in Physical Therapy. Now working as Physical therapist.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Completed an Associate of Arts and Sciences degrees.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and learning disability
Completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and is now working at Nordstrom.
Hearing impairment
Graduated from two-year program in engineering and now working as a Power Technician at Electronic Institute.
Blind
Completed a Bachelor of Sciences degree and now works as an Engineer III, User Support Lead at Verisign, Inc.
Mobility and health impairments
Graduated with Computer Information Technology degree and currently works at Federal Aviation Administration as a Program Assistant.
Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita Pursuing an Associate of Arts degree and is now sole proprietor of a fleet of websites.
Visual impairment
Completed an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in computer applications and is now taking classes to get a degree in business administration with an emphasis in information systems and ultimately work in a computer-based job such as a technical writer, network administrator, or technology instructor.
Blind
Completed a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Cell and Molecular. Worked as an artist, AmeriCorps employee, and consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics and earned a black belt in Aikido. Anna passed away from cancer in June, 2004.
Cerebral Palsy
Developing a cooperative group home.
Dyslexia
Earned a Master of Sciences degree in Math and Computer Science and a minor in and now works as a computer programmer. Got married in August 2003.
Spina Bifida, Homer's Syndrome, and Thalamic Pain Syndrome
Earned an Associate of Arts degree and now works as a professional recording artist.
